Bayou City Energy Tech, a Houston-based energy technology company, announced today it has secured $45 million in Series B funding to accelerate deployment of its artificial intelligence-driven carbon capture monitoring platform across Gulf Coast oil and gas facilities.
The funding round, led by Equity Partners and including participation from Greentech Ventures and existing investors, will enable the company to expand its operations across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi while enhancing its proprietary AI technology that provides real-time emissions tracking and optimization for carbon capture systems.
Bayou City Energy Tech's platform leverages machine learning algorithms to monitor carbon dioxide capture efficiency, reduce operational downtime and identify optimization opportunities at industrial facilities. The technology has demonstrated a 23 percent improvement in capture efficiency across pilot installations at participating oil and gas operations.
"This funding validates our mission to make carbon capture economically viable and operationally superior," said Marcus Chen, chief executive officer of Bayou City Energy Tech. "We're positioned to help the energy sector meet emissions reduction targets while maintaining profitability. Our AI platform transforms how operators manage carbon capture infrastructure."
The company plans to hire 45 additional engineers and data scientists and establish a regional operations center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, supporting the growing demand for emissions monitoring solutions in the energy sector.
Bayou City Energy Tech also announced partnerships with two major oil and gas operators for expanded platform deployment across 12 additional facilities by year-end 2025.
